Area Welfare Manager


The area welfare manager, whether employed or Church-service, helps the Area Presidency and the director for temporal affairs to teach welfare principles, train priesthood and Relief Society leaders who have welfare responsibilities, and oversee welfare operations. The area welfare manager reports to the director for temporal affairs. He may be assisted by area welfare specialists.

Area welfare manager responsibilities include:

 • Understand welfare doctrines, principles, and practices.
 • Develop plans for area welfare operations, evaluation, and training.
 • Provide ecclesiastical training and support.
 • Supervise welfare operations that promote self-reliance.
 • Evaluate and report performance.
