- Rosa leaves her abusive husband and flees to Salt Lake City. She gets a job in the Humanitarian Center where she also takes English classes. She becomes a bilingual receptionist at the Humanitarian Center, and eventually gets a secretarial job with a national company that offers benefits.
- From Corn to Computers
- Raquel comes to Salt Lake City from Mexico. She is hired at the Humanitarian Center to sort clothing, where she is also able to take English and computer classes. After two years, she speaks English well enough to work as a receptionist. Her goal is to find a job as an administrative assistant.
- Did Not Our Hearts Burn Within Us?
- Five Korean journalists come to Salt Lake City looking for stories about the Church. Church missionaries take them on various tours and find them cold and professional until they tour the Humanitarian Center and Welfare Square.
