Bishop's Order for Goods and Services

Goods and services provided by Church welfare operations to help bishops care for the needy are not for sale. They are distributed only by bishops through an authorized bishop’s order. After assessing needs in consultation with a member or family, the bishop completes and signs the order to authorize the goods or services. Often the ward Relief Society president assists in preparing the order. The Bishop’s Order for Commodities—Food and Supplies (33585*), the Bishop’s Order for Commodities—Clothing and Household Goods (31422), and the Bishop's Order for Services (31480) are available to bishops or their designees through Church distribution centers.

* Numbers in parentheses indicate the item number when ordering from a Church distribution center or online.
