Church leaders are crucial to the mission of Deseret Industries and participate in the program by doing three things:

• Identifying ward and stake members who are in need of rehabilitation and vocational training and referring them to the Rehabiliation Services training program.
• Referring members in need of inexpensive, quality merchandise to Deseret Industries stores.
• Encouraging all members to donate time and merchandise to the Deseret Industries program.
