Articles on Single Parenting

The following articles contain information on the topic of Single Parenting. We encourage you to contact one of our offices for additional assistance.

"I say unto all, be of good cheer . . .;for I am in your midst, and I have not forsaken you" (D&C 61:36).

Current U.S. Census Bureau statistics indicate that there are 11.9 million single parents in the U.S. Even though the number of single mothers has remained constant, the rate of single fathers has grown 25% within the last three years. Being a single parent brings on many challenges and adjustments that are usually not anticipated. These would include adjusting to divorce, finding child care, using proper discipline, dealing with an ex-spouse, dating, managing finances, and more. Coping skills, support, understanding, and encouragement are needed to help the single parent make an effective adjustment.
