Caring for the Elderly

"Honour thy father and thy mother" (Exodus 20:12).

With roughly 77 million members of the baby boom generation beginning to retire as early as 2010, we will see enormous strains placed on the overall health care delivery system. Caring for the elderly will not only be a multifaceted decision-making undertaking for the caretaker but a challenge for society. Issues of financial management, living arrangements and residential placements, physical care, emotional support, and community resources will need to be addressed in order to provide adequate care for the elderly.
